Dressing Up Denim
With winter right around the corner, comes a whole new wardrobe. I'm not going to lie, winter is probably my least favorite of all four seasons. I do have to say I think it's a magical season filled with wonderful and beautiful snowflakes but I'm just not a big fan of cold weather. Living in Southern California, I'm used to sunny seventy plus degree days, and when the temperature dips into the fifties I do not know how to operate. I do love being able to layer clothing to create different looks, but most of the time, denim is a staple in my winter wardrobe which if I'm being honest, is not my absolute favorite. I love living in dresses, skirts, and shorts! I mean it when I say I'm a beach babe by heart! So the other day I was thinking, if I must wear denim during the cold season then there must be a way to make it a little bit more feminine and girly. Today, I decided to take my outfit of black jeans and grey sweater to another level and dress it up with strappy heels and a cute purse. To finish the outfit, I added a blanket scarf and matching faux fur pom keychain on my purse.
Clothing is what you make of it, and the great thing is everyone has their own style, likes and dislikes. I'm a true believer of dressing in what makes you feel your best. I know some people don't enjoy dresses, or shorts, or if you're like me, denim. I'm a firm believer in wearing whatever makes you feel confident. When you add in the weather factor though, sometimes wearing what you don't feel your best in is unfortunately, necessary. Denim has never been my go to but I know it's a must have for colder weather to keep warm. Adding a pair of heels to my outfit gives it a feminine touch, and if there's a way to give it that girly feel, you know I'm all over it.
