Fall has always been one of my most favorite times of year. I'm the girl who looks forward to pumpkins and hot cups of cider. I love spending time outdoors around this time of year. I feel like fall is so magical and romantic. There's a chill in the air and leaves begin to change and transform into gorgeous jewel-toned colors. Throwing a picnic is by far one of my favorite things to do during fall. It is so versatile and easy to put together a few items in your basket, add a blanket and you're on your way to spending quality time with whomever you're sharing your picnic with.
My husband and I have this tradition of filling out our Q & A a Day journal every Sunday morning over breakfast. It's awesome to just sit down together answering new questions and looking back at old answers. Last Sunday morning, I thought it'd be great to do something a little different. I decided to pack a few things in a basket and have our breakfast outdoors, book included. We packed the car and drove to a nearby park, laid down our blanket and unpacked our breakfast. We kept it light with honey crisp apple and granola yogurt parfaits, dried fruit, our current favorite pumpkin spiced rooibos tea, and I brought along a slice of cake to share while we wrote in our journal. It was simple and sweet and we had a great time together.
This season is perfect to spend time with loved ones and having a picnic is just the perfect opportunity to do so. I hope this post has inspired you to pack a few things (don't forget the blanket!) and head outdoors to spend quality time with those you cherish the most.
