Ipsy Review // February 2017
It's happy mail time! Yay! Please tell me you love getting happy mail as much as I do. It's my favorite part of the month! Ipsy has always been a favorite because it’s super affordable. If you don’t know what Ipsy is, it’s a monthly makeup subscription service that only costs $10 and comes with 5 deluxe to full sized beauty products that are nestled in a new makeup bag each month. Every month, Ipsy shares spoilers and I could never resist. I went ahead and looked online through everything that I was going to be receiving in my glam bag and I was pleasantly surprised. I always love how every item in the bag is different from the other. This particular one covers makeup accessories, nails, lips, and eyes. It’s very well-rounded, which makes me pretty happy to try out new products in different categories.
NYX // Butter Lipstick
Lippies are always among my favorite to receive and I’m already a huge fan of NYX lip products so I was pretty excited for this new addition to my lippie collection. I actually have a wonderful butter lipstick from NYX in a nude color that I can’t put down. I like to layer it under pink lipgloss and it’s currently my go to. This particular NYX Butter Lipstick comes in the color Ripe Berry and it’s a gorgeous one. It’s creamy and smooth and perfect to swipe on for a quick pop of color. I have a feeling I’m going to be wearing this all spring.
Japonesque // Coconut Solid Blush Cleaner
I am beyond beyond excited (yes, I wrote that twice because I am very excited) for this product. I am a little guilty of not washing my brushes as often as they should be washed but with a product like this one, washing my makeup brushes might just turn out to be my favorite thing to do in my free time. This Coconut Solid Blush Cleaner by Japonesque is pure genius. All you have to do is basically dampen your brush, swirl it in the cleaner and rinse it off. How easy is that? BRB, going to go wash all my brushes rn.
BellaPierre Cosmetics // Volumelash Waterproof Mascara
You guys, I really wanted to love this mascara. Quick note, my eyelashes do not do well with any type of mascara unless it waterproof. When I saw in my spoilers that this mascara is indeed waterproof I did a little jump for joy! My eyelashes are naturally straight so I have to curl my lashes before applying some mascara. So far, I’ve only ever found one mascara that is a godsend, so when I saw that this one was waterproof I got super excited. As soon as I opened my glambag, I curled my lashes and put this on, only to have my lashes uncurl immediately. I’ll be trying this after I apply one coat of my holy grail mascara to see if it really is voluminous and I’ll let you know how I like it then. *fingers crossed for this one*
Trust Fund Beauty // Nail Polish
Nail polish, oh how I love nail polish, specially this brand! I discovered this particular brand through Ipsy and I quickly fell in love. I’ve tried a couple of their colors and they’re always so pigmented, two coats and you’re done. It dries super fast and is chip-free for days on end. I just received the color $12 latte, and although it’s not a shade that I typically reach for since it's a darker shade, it’s still a pretty grayish-purplish-brown.
Luxie Beauty // Rose Gold Brush
Okay, have you ever seen a prettier makeup brush? It’s rose gold and pretty and makes all my makeup applying dreams come true. This one pictured is the Luxie Rose Gold Blush Brush 514. It’s super soft and fluffy and perfect to apply blush with. I have a couple of foundation and kabuki brushes from Luxie that I absolutely adore, they’re well made and come on, you just can’t go wrong with a little rose gold. You can actually use code “forallthingspretty” to get 20% off your entire Luxie brand product purchase on their website. Happy shopping!
February 2017 Glam Bag
This month’s glambag is a denim inspired one with orange lining inside and out. It has a matching orange zipper that is totally cute too. To be honest, I was expecting something pink or red for Valentine’s Day but this bag is kinda fun and makes me excited for spring and summer. Bring on the sunshine!
And that’s it! Five new beauty products to try and test out this month. I’m already in love with that pretty rose gold Luxie brush and can’t wait to test out the coconut brush cleaner! I hope it’s as good as I think it will be. If it is, it’s going to change the way I feel about washing my makeup brushes from now on. Here’s to hoping!
