When it comes to breakfast, I'm the biggest advocate! I believe that having a substantial breakfast sets the mood for the rest of the day and starts you off on the right foot. I always feel ready to take on my day after having breakfast, my favorite breakfast food being oatmeal. When I have time in the morning, I like to make mine on the stove with almond milk and a dash of cinnamon topped with all the toppings but on days when I know I'm going to be rushing out the door I like to have some overnight oats that have been prepared the night before. Overnight oats are super convenient for anyone on the go, they're filling and completely customizable to fit your breakfast cravings. I would suggest to keep the base the same and play with toppings to your liking, although, you really can't go wrong with all the berries! Specially when they're perfectly ripe and sweet!!
A Very Berry Overnight Oats Recipe:
1/2 cup quick oats
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
1/2 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
1 teaspoon chia seeds
1 cup fresh strawberries & raspberries
This is probably the easiest breakfast ever! All you have to do is add your oats to the bottom of your container, followed my almond milk and greek yogurt. Top with chia seeds, which contains a healthy amount of healthy omega-3 fatty acids, carbohydrates, protein, fiber, antioxidants, and calcium, and some fresh strawberries + raspberries. Like I mentioned before you can customize this recipe to your liking by adding any toppings that you love such as other types of fruit or nuts.
This recipe has been adapted by this Quaker Oats recipe I found online but I used a couple of alternative ingredients to fit my dietary needs.
Overnight oats are so easy to prepare and are so satisfying for breakfast! Plus, they're made better when you have a cute little canister like the one I'm currently obsessed with from West Elm, find it here. However, I'm always open to trying new breakfast recipes.
