July 2016 Recap

Hello! It's time for another monthly recap. What? Yeah, I know! The end of the month always catches me by surprise too. I'm always in awe of how fast time seems to go by. July is nearly over and August will soon be making its way. It's a bittersweet feeling to know that autumn is quickly approaching, which makes me want to make the most of this summer each and every day. Come with me as I recap my month of July. Let's get started, shall we?

It isn't summer without endless trips to the beach. I started the month of July by spilling the contents of my beach bag and sharing them with you. Some of my essentials for a day of fun in the sun include a cute bathing suit (of course!), sunscreen to keep those pesky sun rays at bay, water to stay hydrated, and a beach blanket. Click here to see what's in my beach bag.

Flatlays are probably my favorite to share on my Instagram and I'm always constantly thinking of new ideas and arrangements for them. I shared the one on the left this month and I loved how it turned out. You also could never go wrong with pink, right? Find me on Instagram here.

Fourth of July has to be my favorite summer holiday. A day spent around friends and family, celebrating our independence and freedom. BBQ, fireworks, American flags galore. This 4th of July, I decided to stay casual in denim shorts and an off the shoulder white top. An American flag bandana around my neck and a bold red lip completed my patriotic look. Let me start off by saying, this skirt is everything! It was such a great find from American Eagle. I am obsessed with everything from the print, cut, and the way it flows. Paired with a white crop top, cognac colored wedges, and a floppy wool hat, this look still gives me all the heart eyes! See more of this boho babe look here.

This look is a little more casual but still very summer appropriate. I'm going to be honest and say I wish I could wear these white shorts every day this summer. I absolutely love how versatile they are, they can be paired with so many different tops and shoes and be a completely different look from the next. This time around, I pulled this navy crop top from TopShop and my Toms wedges from my closet. I then added a straw hat and a small cross body to the look to create the perfect casual summer outfit. You can see more of this easygoing look here.

Fruit season is my favorite and I love that it aligns with summer time. I always like reaching for a piece of fruit instead of something packaged or processed so I got creative and came up with three summertime smoothie fruit bowls that are perfect for breakfast or as a midday snack. From left to right: Greek yogurt inside half a cantaloupe, acai berry smoothie inside half a papaya, and a delicious green smoothie inside half a coconut. The possibilities are endless when creating one of these yummy fruit smoothie bowls, you can see some more of my fruit bowl, base, and topping options when you click here.

It's been a little over half a year with Rocksbox and they have not let me down. Every month they send three high end pieces of jewelry to your doorstep to wear as much as you'd like. Keep the pieces you fall in love with and send the rest back for another box. I always end up loving the jewelry they send and end up keeping majority of it. This month the necklace on the right captivated my heart. I love dainty jewelry for everyday wear but I can definitely appreciate a pretty statement necklace for special occasions. How beautiful is it, right? You can get your first month of Rocksbox free when you use code forallthingsprettyxoxo.

Talking about that gorgeous necklace, I styled it in this look here. This pink crochet top I picked up from the kids section at Target was the perfect backdrop to this pretty white statement necklace. I love how it pops and stands out against the crochet detail.

Is it really a recap without some snapshots from Instagram? I think not ;) Search forallthingspretty to find me.

Looking back at this look and I'm still completely obsessed. The embroidered detailing on the front portion of this dress is stunning, I only wish the photos would do it justice. This is by far my favorite dress to twirl around in this summer and I can't wait to wear it again. See more of this look here.

Fresh flowers and slices of watermelon. Yes, please!

Spending time at the beach is my favorite past time during the hot summer months, I do live in Southern California after all! Every weekend during the summer you can find me at the beach, and most often than not, wearing a cute hat. This beach babe floppy hat is DIY'ed and cost me less than $20 to make! Click here to see more pictures and get the DIY. If you do decide to make one of your own, please tag me in your photos, I'd love to see how yours turns out.

1. Bralettes for summertime? YES!   2. Remember how I shared, in my July goals, that I wanted to work on creating a little haven for For All Things Pretty? Well, I'm currently organizing and furnishing my first official office and I couldn't be more excited! This bookcase is going to house all my props for my photos and I can't wait to show you the rest of it. Office tour coming soon! 3. Farmer's market flowers always make me happy. These dahlias and snapdragons are so pretty!

Last, but definitely not least, I got to collaborate with Della and wear one of their favorite tanks. Della is a fashion line handcrafted by a community of passionate, talented women in Ghana, West Africa. By being provided with jobs, education, and skills training, these women are given an opportunity to build a foundation for a better life. I love supporting fashion for a cause, and Della is going above and beyond. You can see more of this beachy nautical look when you click here.

If you're still here after that picture heavy post, THANK YOU! Thank you so much for recapping the month of July with me. I'm noticing that I'm gradually gravitating towards fashion and style posts. I love coming up with new outfits, sharing new trends, and I always have a blast shooting them too. I can just hope you're enjoying them as much as I am. With July coming to an end and August soon approaching, I am so excited for what comes next. Expect lots of summer fun, more summer fashion, and maybe even an office tour!

Wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead!
