Winter Skincare Edit
Soft, supple, moisturized skin.. everything my skin dreams are made of in the wintertime!! Unfortunately, the cold dry winter air can cause havoc on our delicate skin, something that I'm sure most of us deal with during this season. I personally have oily skin all throughout the year but as soon as winter arrives my skin gets dry and irritated. After suffering with these pesky skin conditions, I finally found some really great products that I've been using lately to remedy those issues.
2017 was a big year for me skincare wise, it was the year that my interest to take care of my skin peaked. It might be because I want to conserve my skin as I age or because makeup looks one hundred times better when applied onto skin that has been taken care of, or maybe it's because I love feeling confident on no-makeup days (which lets be honest.. is most days! no shame!!), regardless skincare has become incredibly important these days. I'm excited to share these next few products because they've helped my skin feel hydrated and moisturized and hopefully will help you out as well if you're suffering from dry winter skin.
A light weight moisturizer that I use every single morning. It leaves my face feeling recharged and completely pampered and prepped for the day ahead. I absolutely love that it contains SPF 30 which allows me to skip that extra step of adding sun protection to my skincare routine in the morning, something that is oh-so important year round! It's formulated without parabens and sulfates, always a win in my book! It also contains so many great for you ingredients like marine collagen peptides, three types of plant stem cells, and 22 organic extracts that help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, balance skin tone, improve skin texture and softness.
I was turned on to this oil through an Instagram comment left on one of my favorite fashion blogger's pregnancy photo. The comment basically stated that this oil was great to rub on the tummy during pregnancy to prevent stretch marks. However, this oil is multi functional and can be used to hydrate and nourish the skin, which means you don't need to be pregnant to use it! It helps with scars, stretch marks, uneven skin tone, aging skin, dehydrated skin, and even as an after-sun treatment or bath oil. I love that it absorbs quickly into my skin. I use it twice daily on my baby bump, morning and night. I'm currently 33 weeks pregnant and so far no stretch marks!!

One of the most important (& favorite!) steps in my skincare routine, not only during the wintertime but year round, is making sure that I exfoliate my skin. I've been using this sugar scrub on my body to get rid of dead skin cells which in turn helps any other moisturizing product I apply to sink in deeper to my skin. The reason why I love this sugar scrub so much is because it's natural and made with only three ingredients, all sourced in the United States!
An incredible body cream that leaves my skin feeling supple and baby soft. I've specially been using this at my desk when typing and replying to emails because my hands have been feeling the effects of that pesky dry winter air. Plus, this cream smells of pure almonds, seriously heavenly!
Lightweight and fast absorbing, my favorite skincare oil thus far. I don't know why but I absolutely LOVE this skincare step at night. I love the feeling of applying oil at the end of my skincare routine, plus I reap the benefits the next morning when I wake up to skin feeling completely hydrated and like it drank a full glass of water. The best feeling!! This oil contains rosehip seed oil which helps reduce the appearance of fine lines, scars, and hyper pigmentation and also regulates oil production while moisturizing. The Vitamin E in it helps against dehydration and also helps the rosehip oil absorb better into the skin.
During the colder days in late December and early January, I began to notice that the skin around my nose was becoming red and irritated. On the days that I wore makeup, I wasn't very happy. I had dry patches that my foundation was only exposing, not covering up. I was hesitant to exfoliate because my skin was already red and irritated, the only thing I could think of was adding more hydration to those areas and that is where Lather's Moisture Magnet serum came into play. After a week of using it, my dry patches disappeared and my skin went back to normal. This stuff is serious magic to dry skin! I've been using this both morning and at night right after I cleanse and tone, right before adding a moisturizer.
Please tell me I'm not the only one that enjoys good skincare, most specially during wintertime! If you're suffering from dry skin this season, there's no reason to fret! These skincare products are going to make a life of a difference in your skin!
As always, thank you so much for taking a moment of your day to stop by. See you back here soon for a brand new blogpost.
