A Fall Approved Summer Look
I'm stuck in between being excited for fall to officially arrive and wishing summer was here to stay for just a little longer. This summer has been so so eventful! (By the way, I'll be posting a life update really really soon! stay tuned for that) But nonetheless, this summer has been so fun! I've been wearing sundresses and rompers all day everyday to help keep me cool & cute! in the smoldering Southern California heat, can you believe temperatures reached the hundreds for a week in a row? But now that fall is unofficially here, I've suddenly had a desire to bring out all my booties and cozy sweaters out. I've had to stop myself a little since temps are still reaching the eighties, but that doesn't mean that I can't style a fall approved outfit for these last few official days of summer. Consider it as a challenge accepted!
The hybrid between summer and fall fashion is one of my favorites! I am a sucker for a cute dress and I've found that wearing longer hems is perfect to transition from hot sunny temps to cooler breezy fall days. In this look, I'm wearing a longer maxi style dress with floral print. By now, it's no surprise that I love a good floral print! I nixed my usual love for lighter shades and picked this maxi dress up in a darker tone to make it a bit more fall appropriate. I also added one of my favorite wool hats to this look to add just a little texture to the entire look and also because wool hats for fall are everything! I kept my jewelry to a minimum too. I've been loving dainty jewelry recently, I just can't get enough! I layered a dainty necklace over a small coin choker. I love this combo so much! My strappy sandals make this look appropriate for these current warm summer days, I actually picked them up at Target earlier this year and they've become my favorites because they're so versatile! They literally go with anything and everything! I can definitely appreciate a good pair of shoes like that! All in all, the secret to styling a fall approved summer look is simple. One, choose a dress with a longer hemline and a darker tone. Two, you can't go wrong with floral print.. choose something on a smaller scale. Three, add a wool hat for that extra touch of fall and that's it! You've got yourself a fall approved summer outfit!
