A Five Minute Healthy Breakfast Recipe For The Girl On The Go

I'm always on the hunt to find easy recipes that are also healthy, delicious, filling, and fast. I've learned that eating clean and keeping ingredients as wholesome as possible make me the happiest. A dish absolutely does not need to be incredibly intricate to nourish your body, but choosing the right ingredients can and does make a huge difference. I love making sure I eat my fair share of veggies every day, sprinkling some fruit here and there. Of course, being pregnant all I've craved is sugar, and while I truly do believe in balance and I do actually allow myself to give in to my cravings in moderation, my body still thrives on eating clean and always feels best when I feed it nourishing foods filled with all the nutrients and vitamins it needs. 

I blogged about this easy five minute oatmeal recipe a couple of years ago, but I wanted to revisit it because I'm still having this for breakfast a couple of times a week. This is my go-to when I wake up with a sweet tooth because it is so easy to customize with a variety of toppings! Keep scrolling to get the recipe!

This bowl of oatmeal is easy-peasy to make! It literally takes fives minutes from start to finish! The oatmeal portion is essentially the base of the dish and the fun part is customizing it to your liking with all the toppings! It doesn't have any added sugar and it's completely vegan! This is the perfect way to begin the day!

5 Minute Bowl of Oats Recipe

1/3 cup of oats (any is fine but I like to use Coach's Oats that I get from Costco, basically steel cut oats that are super yummy & fast to cook)

1 cup of almond milk, I use regular almond milk

Sprinkle of cinnamon

Add all ingredients to a small pot and cook on low to medium heat. Stir once and let it warm up and bubble. Upon seeing the bubbles, turn off the stove and transfer your oats to a pretty bowl. Then finish up by adding all the toppings!

Some of my favorite toppings include fresh fruit and almond butter but you can add anything you'd like! I also like topping my oats with almonds, a bit of honey, walnuts or unsweetened coconut flakes, the possibilities and combinations are truly endless!
