Happy Monday gal pals! Is everyone just as excited as I am for all the fall festivities lying ahead? Temperatures dipped into the 70's this weekend here in Southern California and it couldn't have been more perfect. Cloudy skies and rainy days are not so common here so it was wonderful to be able to stay in, open all the windows and hear the raindrops fall from the sky. It gave me a chance to try out a new vegan soup recipe I've been eyeing on Pinterest and dance barefoot in the kitchen to Frank Sinatra with my hubby while making dinner. I love true fall days in Southern California! We sneaked out early yesterday morning before the rain came down and shot this look which I wore to breakfast and to run a few errands in preparation for the week ahead. Our first stop after breakfast was Target, which is probably my favorite one stop shop EVER. This pretty blue lace dress which I'm wearing today is actually from Target, and comes with a funny little story.

Have you ever been out to either breakfast, lunch, or dinner (anywhere with food will do) and done probably the most embarrassing thing you can do with food in public? My hubby and I stopped for a quick lunch to recharge at Lemonade before running some errands the other day and I accidentally spilled watermelon rosemary lemonade all over my crisp white blouse. Can you just take a second to imagine that? Bright red lemonade on an off the shoulder white blouse. Huge facepalm! Haha! I was so embarrassed! We were nowhere near home and still had to run a few important errands before we got a chance to head back home. What is a girl to do in a pinch? The lightbulb in my head immediately went off and a thought occurred! Target! We had to stop for a few items anyway and since we were already there, it'd be easy to pick something up to change into. The most comical part was probably having to walk into Target with a huge red stain on my blouse and getting curious looks from strangers but I made sure to walk quickly to the clothing department as soon as I stepped inside the store. After browsing for a few moments, this navy blue dress instantly caught my eye, and I knew it was perfect as soon as I slipped it on in the fitting room.

I've always been a fan of a pretty fit and flare dress. This one particularly caught my eye because of the oversized lace it came in. Is anyone else a fan of oversized lace dresses? I think they're so pretty and a more modern way to wear lace in the present time. I love how the fabric is thick, which makes it the perfect base for a feminine fall look. Wear it with tights and a heavy cardigan for a colder day, or layer a light cardigan and a few accessories for the perfect Southern California weekend look. It's also under $25 and will always hold a special place in my heart because it saved me from major embarrassment for the remainder of that laughable day. Dainty accessories from Rocksbox (my favorite monthly jewelry subscription where you can sign up for free when you use code forallthingsprettyxoxo), a unique women's watch from JORD Wood Watches (click here for a giveaway I'm hosting with them where everyone is a winner) and my current favorite pair of sunnies from Nordstrom (which I finally found online here for under $15) completes my version of a perfect Southern California laid back fall look.

#TargetDoesItAgain, am I right? I love easy, comfy, and cozy outfits like these! They're made even better when oversized lace and a feminine silhouette is combined to form a pretty fall dress. Have you ever had an embarrassing moment like mine? I'd love to hear all about it and share a few laughs! Feel free to leave a comment down below.

Thank you so much for taking a moment of your day to stop by. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead,
