A Valentine's Day Breakfast Celebrating Grandma To Be
This post has been compensated by FTD Flowers. As always, all thoughts and opinions are that of my own.
The bond between a mother and daughter is such a special one. My mom became a stay at home mom when I was born. I was her first child and she nurtured me, cared for me, and loved me with all her being. Growing up, I remember loving spending time with my mom. I remember she would without fail have a hot meal ready on the table waiting for me after school always with an open ear asking how my day at school went. She taught me to always be kind, see the best in everyone, and to respect myself and others around me. Now, years later, our bond is a strong one. She's been there for me through my entire life and is now one of my best friends. I know that I can confide anything in her and she'll give me her best advice. I'm not the toddler or child she once took care of but I'm still her girl. Now that life has come full circle and I'm about to be a mom to a beautiful little girl of my own I only hope that the bond I have with my own daughter is similar to the one I have with my mother. My desire is to teach my daughter everything my own mom has taught me, to always be there for her with open arms ready to embrace her in warmth and love. I want to protect her and teach her to grow up to be a strong individual. As these last few weeks of pregnancy pass by, I am growing more and more excited to begin this journey as a mother. This Valentine's Day, I decided to do something special for my mom as a way to thank her and show her how grateful I truly am to have her in my life.
Valentine's Day, an entire day dedicated to celebrating love, is one of my favorite holidays in the earlier part of the year. I love everything it encompasses, sharing and spreading love to those special beings in our life. Recently, I've been reflecting a lot (must be all those pregnancy hormones) and I'm feeling specially grateful for my own mother. She's been there for me from the beginning and has helped me so much these past few months of pregnancy. She has shown me how to be a mom and has given me insight into being the best mom to my own daughter that I could be. Valentine's Day is well known for being a day that you spend with that special person in your life but it's also a day to show love and gratefulness to those you care about. I decided to leave my evening open on Valentine's Day to share dinner and a movie with my husband but I really wanted to show my mom how much I truly appreciate her by sharing my morning with her. The perfect way for a mother and daughter to bond, definitely over breakfast! Waffles and fresh fruit anyone? It's our favorite combo! To celebrate her even further and show her my appreciation, I decided to surprise her with a beautiful flower arrangement from FTD Flowers. They have the best bouquets that are perfect to celebrate Valentine's Day with a loved one. I chose the FTD Precious Heart Bouquet for my mom, but they have so many other arrangements that are sure to bring a smile to anyone you decide to share it with. Besides flowers arrangements, FTD Flowers also has a variety of gifts available for delivery, such as chocolate (a tried and true favorite for Valentine's Day) and even an assortment of beautiful plants like terrariums, succulents, and orchids. They also offer same day delivery! Pretty awesome right? I decided to deliver the beautiful flower bouquet to my house so I could surprise her with it along with breakfast when she came over. Safe to say, she absolutely LOVED her floral arrangement!
