February 2016 Recap

February came and went so quickly! This month was filled with so many wonderful things. Today, I'm recapping the month of February and sharing it with all of you. I love starting the month with a photo of my planner. It's a positive reminder that a whole month of possibilities is ahead. It's a clean slate that is just waiting to be filled with all sorts of opportunities and exciting things.

This country casual look made its way to the blog first this month. My husband and I took a trip to the country to visit his grandparents for the weekend and it was so relaxing. The whole environment out there is so different than what we're used to and it was a nice change of scenery for us. I kept it country casual with a pair of distressed denim and a cardigan. Valentine's day was soon arriving, so I put together a his and hers gift guide. I mean, you can't really go wrong with a heartfelt gift that is thoughtful and sweet. See more of that gift guide here.

I love curating images for my Instagram feed. It's one of the things I like to do to express myself creatively. Here are three of my favorite photos from this month. Find me on Instagram by searching @forallthingspretty.

The temperature reached mid-eighties this month and I couldn't help but ditch my denim and wear a dress. I kept it winter appropriate by adding a fur vest and a pair of ankle boots. To see more of this look, click here.

Winding down after a long day is one of my favorite things to do. I love to wear something comfy, like a bralette and a knitted sweater, and lounge around while drinking a hot cup of tea. Doesn't that sound lovely? Reading a good book and opening any packages that arrived on my doorstep that day always helps me relax and feel peaceful after a long day. I wrote all about winding down after a long day, here.

Valentine's day is easily one of my favorite holidays. I love romantic gestures and the idea of everyone celebrating love collectively. I kept in neutral and feminine this year and wore a chiffon dress with a faux leather belt detail. Click here to see more of this outfit.

I have to admit, color kind of scares me a little. I feel comfortable in neutrals and usually always reach for them when getting dressed, but this time around I challenged myself to wear a little color and I absolutely loved it! This boho dress is easily one of my favorite dresses in my wardrobe and I can't wait to wear it again. Sometimes, stepping out of your comfort zone and trying something new really pays off. I skipped January's ipsy bag but just had to resubscribe for February. I knew they would have some sort of Valentine's themed makeup pouch and I wasn't wrong. February's ipsy bag is just so cute! I shared the contents of the bag in this post.

Here are three more photos from Instagram that I absolutely adore. I'm obsessed with those pink shoes, that mermaid print, and obviously, flowers are always a must.

After being sick in bed with a terrible cold for a whole week, I decided that it was time to get up, get dressed, and go out to do something. I kept it girly and neutral but added a bold lip to balance things out. Click here to see more of this look.

Finding happiness in our day to day life is so important. Being grateful, taking care of yourself, and spreading kindness and positivity everywhere you go can help you be happier and feel like you're walking on sunshine. I highlighted those three ways to be a happier person in this blog post, here.

Lastly this month, I spilled the contents of my bag to give you a peek into what I carry in my bag during the weekends. I had so much fun putting this post together for you. See more of What's In My Bag: Weekend Edition, here.

If you made it this far, thank you so much for recapping the month of February with me. I love these types of posts because it's like a quick glimpse into what my month consisted of. Here's to saying goodbye to a great month and welcoming in a brand new one. Now, who is ready for March?

Thank you for taking a moment of your day to read this post. Happy Monday!

XO Karen
