We all have those days where we open the door to our closet in the morning and one of two things happens. Either we look around, inspired by all our clothes and know exactly what we're wearing as soon as those doors open (such a magical moment!) or we frantically search through every item not knowing exactly what is going to clothe our bodies that day (oh, the horror!). For days like the latter, I've learned that having a few key pieces on hand help you get dressed and feel good about yourself for the rest of the day. What I like to do is go for a dress because it's incredibly easy to style! Also, you don't need to worry about pants (winning!). To make it fall appropriate, all you need is a coat/jacket/cardigan to layer over your dress, a pair of booties, and accessories to match. Easy peasy!

I love to wear clothes that make me feel good about myself, and a dress is definitely my go to. I've actually been experimenting with different looks this season and what I've recently discovered is that I usually like how two unlikely pieces look together. Here, for example, I've paired this delicate silky gold dress, with ruffles across the top, an exposed zipper, and small white polkadots with an army green military jacket. It's the perfect balance of feminine with a tough edge. I added my favorite tortoise-shell sunnies, a small gold necklace, and a pair of chunky heeled boots to balance and complete the look.

I encourage you to play around with your wardrobe and figure out what unlikely pieces go well together. Usually you’ll come across an outfit choice that you would’ve never thought of but looks pretty great. Just like in life, it's all about balance and bringing that balance to your outfit to make you feel like you’re ready to take on the day.

Thanks for stopping by,

XO Karen
