Ipsy Unboxing & Review // April 2017
Hey, there gal pals! Today, I'm sharing one of my favorite beauty posts of the month. I just received my Ipsy glambag in the mail, filled with all sorts of beauty goodies and I couldn't wait to share. If you're unfamiliar with Ipsy, it's a beauty subscription that costs $10 a month and includes free shipping. Every month, they send a cute makeup bag filled with five deluxe sample and full sized beauty products. This is all packaged in a metallic pink bubble mailer that is delivered right to your doorstep. We all love a little happy mail, right? I love Ipsy because it's a relatively affordable way to try out and experiment with new beauty products every month. Want to see what I received this month? Keep scrolling!
Ciate London // Mini Bamboo Bronzer
Smooth, mini, and matte. This Ciate London bronzer comes in the color Palm Island and just by swatching it, I can tell that the formula is 💯. The great thing about this particular bronzer is that it contains amaranth and sunflower extract ingredients, which help soothe and smooth your skin. This might be a teeny tiny bit too light for me, but I'm def going to give it a try this weekend.
Luxie Beauty // Luxie Dreamcatcher Precision Foundation Brush 660
I am a sucker for makeup brushes! Makeup brushes in my Ipsy bag are among my favorite items to receive. This particular one is from a brand called Luxie Beauty , which I'm no stranger to. I'm obsessed with their makeup brushes! Usually they come in a rose gold/pink version but this one comes in a periwinkle shade. Equally cute! This particular brush has a multitude of uses. It can be used for liquid, cream, or powder foundations, concealers, highlighters, and bronzers! It's super fluffy and features synthetic bristles making it 100% vegan friendly and cruelty free.
Meg // Twin Nail Polish
I think this duo polish is so cute! It comes in the color Lovey Dovey. A dusty nude and blue grey shade in a mini package. Out of the two shades, you can guess that I'm drawn to the nude one the most. A few years back, I used to be the type of gal that enjoyed a bright colorful mani but now I love wearing nudes and neutrals, so this is perfect!
Hanalei // Aloe Soothing Gel
I've always heard that natural aloe has wonderful benefits. I usually only use these type of aloe gels after a day at the beach, and on my husband when he forgets to wear his sunscreen. I don't ever burn but he gets red if he's out in the sun without any protection. This particular aloe soothing gel peaks my interest though, because it can be used on the face or the body, beneath or in place of regular moisturizer. It can also be used as a makeup primer, which truly peaks my interest! I'm going to try this one out as a makeup primer this weekend and report back with thoughts.
Elizabeth Mott // Show Me Your Glow Shimmer Shadow & Highlighter
Confession time, this little guy came in a not-so-cute mini container, so I decided to take it out of it's packaging to photograph it, which may have been a bit of a mistake. I accidentally dropped it and it shattered into a billion little pieces. Whoops! This little guy doubles up as a shadow and highlighter, meaning it can be used on the eyelids, on the cheekbones, down the bridge of the nose and even along your collar bones. From what I could salvage and pick up, it seemed like a soft buttery formula but sadly I won't be able to try this one out.
That's it! That's all I received in my Ipsy glambag this month. I'm very excited about the pretty periwinkle Luxie Beauty brush and the Ciate Londer mini bronzer. Can I also mention that the makeup bag itself is incredibly cute this month! *all the heart eyes* Am I right?
