What To Wear When You Go Apple Picking
Yay for all the fall festivities! Including apple picking. This is one of those things that has been on my bucket list for fall year after year. (Click here if you want to see this year's fall to-do list) Since our closest apple farm is a little out of our way, every year we would keep putting it off until realizing that apple season was over (so sad!) but this year was totally different! Yay! We made plans to set some time on a bright weekend morning to drive out and do a little apple picking of our own. Dream come true!
I've always dreamed of going apple picking. If you're planning to go out and do a little apple picking of your own this fall I would suggest picking up your phone first to check the temperature for that day and dress accordingly. Of course, living in Southern California meant that I had a little bit of freedom when it came to dressing appropriately for this wonderful fall adventure we were embarking on. Sunny and bright skies with temperatures in the high 70's is what I had to work with. I decided on wearing my white oversized lace dress (that I styled with a leaf crown in this blogpost last fall, so dreamy!) topped with a classic denim jacket that I found at Target a few weeks ago, a bold red lip, and my go to pair of brown ankle boots.
My number 1 tip is to wear a pair of boots that you don't mind getting a little dirty, since you'll most likely be walking in nature through orchards of apple trees during your fun adventure. If it's on the warmer side, like it was here in SoCal, go for my favorite combo for fall and wear a pretty dress and a cute jacket. If it's just a tad bit colder, opt for a pair of distressed denim jeans and a cute blouse topped with a jacket or coat and don't forget your boots. Riding boots are also perfect for this type of adventure and look so great in photos! Carry essentials, like your wallet (to pay for those yummy apples), car keys, iPhone (to take cute snaps of your adventures and share them on Instagram Stories), and your lippie product (for a quick touch up in between all the fun you'll be having) in a small cross body purse. But most importantly, don't forget to have fun and enjoy yourself. Whether you make it out with a special someone, a couple of friends, or your wonderful family, make sure you enjoy yourself, your surroundings, and your company! Then go home, and eat up all those yummy apples!
I'm so happy I was finally able to make it out to the apple farm. If you're in Southern California, I suggest going to Riley's Apple Farm. It's not too far from LA and OC, just under an hour and a half away, and is such a great experience. It's sure to make your heart happy with all those fall vibes. Now that apple picking is crossed off my fall to-do list, I'm so excited for all the other fall activities that come next. Next on my list, decorating pumpkins, baking an apple pie, and hopefully visiting a corn maze soon. What is next on your fall to do list? Are you going apple picking soon? Feel free to share with me down below.
Thank you so much for taking a moment of your day to stop by. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead,
